Tour 06: A day in the Nordreisa Valley and Reisa National Park

A guided photosafari into the distinctive and beautiful nature of the Reisa Valley: We visit former dwelling areas of the Kven people with rivers rich in salmon which also served as transport arteries – in summertime for transporting timber and in winter time as Traffic arteries futher into the valley.

We depart from the car park near the Hotel Maritim in Skjervøy at 9am. The excursion lasts 6 hours, 8 hours if you want to do a riverboat safari. We travel from Skjervøy over the bridge and through the under-sea tunnel and travel to Bakkeby. Langslet, Sørkjosen and Storslett.

Prices: for groups 2-6 persons NOK 450,- per person, minimum 2 persons. The price incudes guiding, tour with car/bus, but no meals. Lower prices for groups over 10 persons.

Good views of Bakkeby, Sokkelvik and the mouth of the Reisa River. The main resident at Sørkjosen dating from 1820 (1), “Kronebutikken” with a Kven house (2), the Halti National Park Centre (3), Annabakkelv and Røyelen (4), Storslett Church (5), the ancient market place at Flatvoll (6), a Tornedal house at Annsjøen (7), Tørrfoss Kven Museum (8). Hire a traditional river boat (9) and make a river boatasafari into the Reisa National park (10).

A photosafari and guided tour of ca. 8 hours in majestic and mountainous Kåfjord and Lyngen, areas with impressive and distinct nature and the Saami, Kven and Norwegian cultures. Remember your camera – there are many photogenic subjects! Lyngen has a significant importance as a fishing fiord and as a meeting place for the entire North Calotte.

We depart from the car park near the Hotel Maritim in Skjervøy at 9am. The excursion lasts around eight hours. We travel on well maintained sealed roads and stop for lunch en route. We travel from Skjervøy over the bridge and through the under-sea tunnel and travel to Djupvik-Olderdalen-Birtavarre-Manndalen-Skibotn-Furuflaten-Lyngseidet. From there, we take the Lyngseidet-Olderdalen ferry and return to Skjervøy.

Prices for groups of 2-4 persons: NOK 600,- per person. The price includes guiding and driving car/bus and ticket for the ferry. Lunch must be paid for on you own. Lower prices for larger groups, please contact us for prices.

A photosafari and guided excursion into Nordreisa and Kvænangen with many photogenic subjects en route. In former times, these areas were grazing pastures for reindeer and domestic animals, felling areas for timber for other parts of North Troms. In former times, Kvænangen fiord had among Northern Norway’s richest fish stocks.

We depart from the car park near the Hotel Maritim in Skjervøy at 9am. The excursion lasts 7-8 hours. We travel on well maintained sealed roads and stop for lunch en route. We travel from Skjervøy over the bridge and through the under-sea tunnel, over the Reisafjell mountain to Sørkjosen-Storslett-Oksfjord-Kvæanangsfjellet-Sørstraumen-Kvænangsbotn-Badderen-Burfjord.
